🍳 Pro tip: Book a cabin with a full kitchen (Cabins 10–12 or MeMaw's) and pick up fresh produce, local honey, and Hill Country peaches at the roadside stands along Hwy 16. A home-cooked meal under the porch stars is one of the best things you can do in the Hill Country.

When to Visit the Texas Hill Country
The Hill Country is beautiful year-round. Here's what to expect in each season.
🌸 Spring (Mar–May)
Peak wildflower season — bluebonnets blanket the roadsides. Mild temperatures, great for hiking, and ideal river conditions. Texas's most popular travel season.
☀️ Summer (Jun–Aug)
Hot days (90–100°F) mean the rivers are packed. Tubing, swimming, and late-night outdoor concerts are the name of the game. Book early — weekends fill up fast.
🍂 Fall (Sep–Nov)
The absolute best weather for exploring. Lost Maples turns brilliant red and gold in November. Harvest festivals, wine events, and cooler temps for hiking.
❄️ Winter (Dec–Feb)
A peaceful and underrated time to visit. Fewer crowds, cozy cabins, and crisp air for hiking. Christmas lights in Boerne and Fredericksburg are spectacular.
